I thought Arizona had a monopoly on trading prematurely....
This kid is going to be a steal for someone.... |

Would love to see philly make a move on him, especially since they could offer some cap relief. What do you think the starting price is? |

Eep, I have fixed that. Executing players is rarely a productive way to encourage development. |

Coilers- will Coiler... Nice see EJ finally get some balls and call the Coiler brass incompetent... |

PuuuParty needs the rest of the year winning... He does not need to be Coilering with the Coilers... Send him down as the Coilers will not get fair value for him in a trade... |

brutal asset management......everyone on the planet knew chiarelli was awful....but he has decimated that organization and left such a mess it could be 5 years to clean up or more.
on that note dubas offers up justin holl and a 4th for puljujarvi. done and done. |

It’s also been reported that Dreger said on tsn 1260 this morning that while Puju is out there for a trade the feeling is the asking price is too high....so take that for what it’s worth |

Chia was brutal but far from the only issue....it’s all of management....why is it after a decade of losing that these clowns still have a job? It’s easy to point out to one guy and say it’s all of his fault but let’s be real....for as stupid as Chia is this franchise was a laughing stock before he took it over

Just do the kid a huge favor and leave him in Raleigh after the game. His best buddy Seabass is here. He will love playing for an organization with a good, young NHL team, a stacked AHL squad, and an office with a semblance of prospect development.
I can draw a picture and explain the word development if our friend Chia is reading this. Need to slow down for the lil fella sometimes. |

The last bit just all but proves my previous post....Chia has been gone for a while now....they could have sent him down at ANY time....so maybe it’s not just Chia? Maybe?

Sean Maloughney: G57 - Oilers @ Hurricanes - Puljujarvi Good As Gone - freelancer
Realistically, what can Puljujarvi get in return. I get he is a 20 year old, drafted 4th overall, but he has just 37 points spread out over 138 NHL games during his 3 year entry level contract. He has looked mediocre at best, and was given the opportunity to play with the best player in the world. 9 points over 14 AHL games doesn't stand out either. Realistically, what would the return be? His value has been run into the ground. |

When I'm reminded that Justin Williams playing on the top line and is 3rd on his team in scoring at 37 years old, I get so angry that Lombardi chose to sign Gaborik to a long-term contract instead of bringing him back. |

Yes his value isn’t very good right now which is why trading him doesn’t make sense....but if they continue to ignore that he needs a full season in the AHL and just keep trying to make him an NHL player when he isn’t ready to be then I would prefer he gets moved so he can maybe have a chance somewhere else and stick it to the Oilers down the road....wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened |

Oilers player development department is awful. Way worse than scouting department.
He’s salvageable and then some in the right organization. Patience for some is the key, jet fan here and Scheifele’s two years after being drafted looked NOT good, Bambi on ice.
Then you have the odd 18-19 year old that just steps in and belongs.
Have the mindset that each pick is 2+ years away and let the player mature |

Obviously a hindsight comment, but ideal development strategy would have been:
year after draft - another full season in Finland
last year - full season in AHL
this year - first half season in AHL again, them call him up when/if he shows real promise
also saw some speculation that he doesn't want to play in AHL? Well tough poop bud, do as your told of (frank) off |

Can’t argue with the success the Jets have had which is why I have tossed Craig Heisingers name out there as someone that should be looked at as our new GM if he was interested in the position |

I was wondering if Carolina might actually be the best fit for him and for a trade? Canes need some scoring, and JP isn't providing that but change of scenery might be good, and perhaps Aho can help with the language/IQ problem
Maybe a trade involving Faulk/Bean/Fleury? Could argue that's an overpay but they have a pile of good young D |

I would toss in a sweetner with Puljujarvi for Faulk |
